Help Improve Our Sidewalks
East Bay Drive Neighborhood residents use sidewalks and we all know there is a lot of room for improvement in their condition. You most likely have a few examples of damaged or in-passable sidewalks in the neighborhood. What can we do to identify these problems to prevent any one from getting injured and to allow people to get around on the sidewalks.
One way is to take a few moments the next time you encounter a sidewalk problem and use a free mobile app on your phone to submit a picture and a brief description of the sidewalk problem. The Olympia Council of Neighborhood Associations (CNA) built an app to collect data from residents about sidewalks needing repair. The CNA will consolidate all the data and provide to the City of Olympia. The City plans to prioritize sidewalks needing improvements this year. So your pictures and description of problems may help get our sidewalks on the list for repair.
Use the Quick Start Guide or Tutorial for Reporting Sidewalk Problems to down load the app and start using it on your mobile phone. Again, it is free to load and use. Reporting sidewalk problems will help get attention focused where sidewalk repair will do the most good.
Keep in mind that the app is still being improved so feel free to send comments, questions, or concerns to Larry Dzieza at cna.olympia@gmail.com
